Wajir Governor Ahmed Abdullahi has reshuffled his County Executive Committee (CEC) in what he described as a move to enhance service delivery and improve efficiency within his administration.
The Governor, in a statement issued on Tuesday, noted that the adjustments were necessary “to optimise service delivery and operational efficiency” across critical sectors of the county.
As part of the shake-up, Ahmed Mohamed Wardere, who has been serving as the CEC for Education, Social Welfare and Family Affairs, was reassigned to the Department of Lands, Public Works and Urban Development.
Former Roads and Transport CEC Issa Garore has been moved to head the Water Services docket, while Farah Abdi Saman, previously in charge of Agriculture, Livestock and Veterinary Services, now takes over Roads and Transport.
Saadia Ahmed Abdi, who had been serving in Lands, Public Works and Urban Development, has been appointed to lead the Health Services department.
Meanwhile, Yakub M. Dahiye has been transferred from Environment, Energy and Climate Change to Education, Social Welfare and Family Affairs.
In another key change, Farhiya Abdille Maalim, who was attached to the Executive Office of the Governor under Special Programmes, Public Service and County Administration, now takes over the ICT, Trade, Investment and Industry portfolio. Her predecessor, Khalif Abdi Ali, has been reassigned to the Governor’s Executive Office to oversee Special Programmes, Public Service and County Administration.
Mohamed Abdirahman Abdi, who was in charge of Water Services, will now lead Agriculture, Livestock and Veterinary Services.
