By Wajir Today Reporter

ALDEF Kenya, in partnership with Wajir Women for Peace, on Thursday convened a meeting of the Gender Technical Working Group (GTWG) at the Wajir County Gender Office aimed at reinforcing efforts to prevent and respond to Gender-Based Violence (GBV).

In a statement on X, ALDEF Kenya noted: “The main objective of the meeting was strengthening referral pathways, how to improve GBV prevention, responses, sustainability and action plan.”

The forum brought together stakeholders to review existing referral pathways for GBV survivors and identify strategies to improve service delivery. They also discussed sustainability measures and a joint action plan to ensure consistent, coordinated response.

GBV remains a pressing concern in Wajir County, with stakeholders stressing that multi-sectoral collaboration is key to tackling the problem. The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to a safer, more equitable community, backed by strengthened prevention and response mechanisms.
