The family of Mr. Husein Abdirahman Mohamed, the manager of Huduma Centre in Wajir Town, has made a passionate appeal to the government, security agencies, and members of the public to assist in tracing his whereabouts, following his unexplained disappearance five days ago.
Speaking at a press briefing on Saturday, Sheikh Abdiwahab Osman, a member of Hussein’s family, expressed deep concern and anguish over the sudden vanishing of the officer, describing it as “out of character, deeply alarming, and emotionally devastating for the family.”
“We stand before you with a heavy heart, seeking justice, answers, and the safe return of our brother,” Sheikh Abdiwahab said. “Hussein left for his daily duties but never returned. His phone has been off since then, and there has been no communication or clue about his location.”
Hussein, a respected public servant known for his integrity and dedication to community service, had served as the Huduma Centre manager in Wajir, ensuring citizens received vital government services efficiently.
“The family is living in agony, uncertainty, and fear. Husein is a devoted father, a loving husband, and a peaceful man who stood for service and dignity. If he has been kidnapped, we plead with those holding him to release him unharmed,” Sheikh Abdiwahab added.
The family confirmed that they had reported the matter to police and relevant authorities but are yet to receive any credible leads.
Meanwhile, local leaders have joined the family in calling for urgent action. Addressing the media, Wagberi Ward Member of County Assembly, Hon. Aden Abdi Bulle, urged the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, National Intelligence Service, and all relevant agencies to prioritise the case.
“It is unfortunate that he disappeared without any communication with his family. We appeal to investigative agencies to fast-track efforts to locate him. This is someone who led an institution and served the public with discipline and devotion,” Hon. Bulle said.
The MCA also called on the public to come forward with any information that could help locate Husein. “If there is anyone with knowledge of his whereabouts, we urge them to disclose that information”
Authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the disappearance of the state officer, who is managing a critical institution.
