Residents of Bula Barwaqo in Wajir were left in disbelief on Thursday morning after a man was stabbed to death in a shocking daylight attack that has sent shockwaves through the area.

The incident happened around 11:50 a.m., when Muhammad Shiish was allegedly attacked by Adan Ali, a man reported to be mentally unstable. Witnesses said the suspect stabbed Shiish multiple times with a knife.

Police officers arrived at the scene and took the suspect into custody. Some residents allege that Ali may have been struggling with mental health issues prior to the attack.

Security officials have since launched investigations to determine what triggered the fatal assault and to assess the suspect’s mental condition.

A police source confirmed the incident to Wajir Today, noting that the suspect will be arraigned in court on Friday once preliminary investigations are complete.
