One Arrested, Illegal AK-47 Recovered in Sabuli, Wajir County

The National Police Service (NPS) has arrested a suspect found in possession of an illegal AK-47 rifle during a patrol operation in Sabuli, Wajir County.

In a statement issued on its X account on Monday, the Service said the arrest was made on 1 December 2025, after officers intercepted the suspect while conducting routine patrols in the area.

“The suspect is now in police custody awaiting further action, and the firearm has been seized and secured,” the NPS said.

Police have urged residents to work closely with security agencies by providing information that can help prevent crime and protect communities.

“Members of the public are encouraged to support these efforts by reporting any suspicious activity,” the Service said
