KDF Steps In to Deliver Water to Wajir School Amid Severe Drought

Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) troops in Wajir have delivered much-needed water to Bojiyare Comprehensive School in Wajir West Sub-County as the county battles a worsening drought.

On 10 February 2026, KDF personnel carried out a Civil–Military Cooperation (CIMIC) operation after an assessment confirmed the school’s water supply had deteriorated. The shortage posed a serious threat to learning, with students at risk of having to leave school in search of water.

The intervention served both as a humanitarian gesture and a strategic effort to address a vulnerability that could have disrupted education for the student population.

Staff and pupils at Bojiyare Comprehensive School expressed their gratitude for the support, highlighting the importance of the delivery in sustaining daily learning activities.
