
Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) troops stationed in Diff, Wajir South Sub-County, convened a Key Leaders’ Engagement (KLE) bringing together security agencies, administrative officials, and community leaders in a multi-agency effort to bolster peace and stability in the region.
The forum provided a platform for open dialogue between local leaders and security personnel, underscoring the importance of partnership in addressing emerging security challenges along the Kenya–Somalia border.
Speaking at the meeting, Major Martin Kasinga stressed that security is a shared responsibility requiring collective effort. He noted that lasting peace can only be achieved through inclusivity and close collaboration between government agencies and the local population.
Mr. Omar Hussein, Chairman of the Sub-County Security Committee, echoed this message, emphasising the need for strong cooperation and information sharing between residents and security agencies to maintain stability.
Community representatives praised the commitment of KDF and other security agencies in safeguarding the area. They pledged their support to work hand in hand with security forces to promote unity, resilience, and peaceful coexistence.
