In a sweeping leadership shake-up, Amina Udgoon Siyad has been appointed as the new Parliamentary Secretary of the Jubilee Party, replacing long-serving Eldas MP Aden Keynan.
The move is part of a broader restructuring of the party’s top brass following a High Court ruling that upheld resolutions from the party’s disputed National Delegates Convention (NDC) held in May 2023.
The changes were formally announced through a gazette notice dated June 30, 2025, by the Registrar of Political Parties, Ann Nderitu. The notice follows a consent sanctioned by the Civil Division of the Milimani High Court, which nullified an earlier decision by the Internal Disputes Resolution Committee (IDRC) that had invalidated the 2023 NDC.
“In exercise of the power conferred by section 20(1)(c) of the Political Parties Act, the Registrar of Political Parties gives notice that Jubilee Party intends to make changes to the party officials,” the gazette notice read.
The court decision now clears the path for the Jubilee Party to implement a new leadership structure amid renewed efforts to revitalise its political relevance ahead of the next general election.
Key among the changes is the retention of former President Uhuru Kenyatta as Party Leader, signalling continuity at the helm. Beatrice Gambo has been named Deputy Party Leader in charge of Strategy, replacing Jimmy Angwenyi. Kados Muiruri takes over the powerful Operations docket from Kinoti Gatobu, while Joseph Manje steps in as Deputy Party Leader for Outreach, succeeding Naomi Shabaan.
The leadership overhaul marks a new chapter for the party, which has been navigating internal wrangles and political headwinds in recent years.
